At Northwood we feel that activities and entertainment is as important as any medicine or treatment and we believe this is such an important part of your care.

We are aware that some care homes use and rely upon staff fundraising or residents or families are asked to fund entertainments and activities. Such staff fundraising activities do take up valuable staff time that could be spent on providing care. We feel our approach leaves our dedicated and skilled staff free to care for you.
Specialists who visit Northwood include chiropodists, physiotherapists and dentists. Professional entertainers and various classes and trips out are regularly organised.
There are residents meetings for those who wish to participate and we also have a residents committee. We host monthly residents meetings and complete quarterly surveys and most importantly listen and act on suggestions raised. We also have an extensive and varied activities programme and two staff are qualified in chair based activities for those with restricted movement. Residents are also invited to sit in on interview panels when new staff are to be employed and this has proven very useful to us when employing new members of staff.

Nothing is compulsory as choice and independence is important. If you visit Northwood please always ask to see our activities diary which we will make this available with a sense of pride.
Why not see for yourself, drop in, join us for lunch or spend a night or weekend with us, you will be pleasantly surprised.
